Clearwater Beach Florida Fishing Report - Last updated: October 5th 2010 I'm happy to report that our fall weather has moved in this week. Temperatures are cool at night, and strong northern winds are cooling down the water temps. The bite has been aggressive and active. We're taking keeper grouper inside 15 miles and the beaches and reefs are loaded up with spanish mackerel. Sharks are actively feeding on the mackerel and we've taken some real monsters over the last few weeks. All the typical bottom fish are overly active. Grunts, triggers, and porgies are everywhere, and the mangrove snapper bite has been progressively improving. We expect the King Mackerel to make their migratory appearance again shortly. Sporadic fish have been taken over the last few days, so it won't be long before the drags are screaming again with a smoker on the opposite end. We're still oil free and the fishing is spectacular. Come get some! Fish On! Capt. Gregg Corder |
